Pentecostal Lighthouse of Visalia

Meet the Senior Pastor

Rev. James K. McPhaill

Pastor James McPhaill was born on May 12, 1944 in Visalia, California. His parents later moved to San Jose, California where he attended high school. Reverend McPhaill moved back to Visalia to pursue his university education at California State University, Fresno. In 1966, he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. From there he moved to St. Paul, Minnesota to attend Apostolic Bible Institute (ABI), graduating with a degree in Theology in 1969. It was there that he met his bride-to-be, Carol, who was also attending ABI. They were married February 7, 1970. Their ministry took them to Visalia as assistant pastor, evangelizing throughout the United States and Canada, pastoring in Virginia, Minnesota, then returning to Visalia as pastor. They have pastored the Pentecostal Lighthouse in Visalia since 1980. Under their leadership, the church has experienced exceptional growth and made several inroads into the community providing specialized ministry. The McPhaills have two adult children (son and daughter) and three grandchildren (one boy and two girls).
